When you’re using processor-intensive applications, Turbo Boost 2.0 increases the clock speed up to 3.4GHz. Hyper-Threading lets each core run two threads, so OS X multitasks even more efficiently. And an integrated memory controller connects fast 1333MHz memory directly to the processor, so it gets right to work on your data.
OS X Lion and OS X Lion Server
You can choose from a workstation OS X Lion version or the server version depending on your needs. The desktop flavor is great for most clients but if you want to have greater control of your environment, then OS X Lion Server is for you.
The set of applications in OS X Lion Server turns just about any Mac into a powerful server that’s perfect for home offices, businesses, schools, and more. The services included in the server version allows you to get local and remote administration features and services such as users and groups, file sharing, calendaring, email, contacts, chat, Time Machine, VPN, web, and wiki services.
Want to know how your server is performing? The Server app can tell you. It displays graphs for monitoring access and server performance and gives you an overview of your hardware configuration and storage use. The Server app even lets you configure your server to send you email alerts if problems arise or if new software updates are available.
